Ribline
A ribline is often used when the net depth is greater than the water depth, especially in rough ground, or extremely soft muddy ground
Instead of pursing from the bottom, the heaviest line in the seine, pursing is done from rings and bridles on a line (generally a floating line) above the leadline. The distance above the leadline varies depending on the type of bottom and obstacles likely to be encountered. This tends to pull the leadline up and over the It will also help you avoid picking up shells, crabs or lobsters. The Gannet Gold Ribline is basically the same as the Gannet Gold Corkline, except it floats, because the tightly braided polyester cover is replaced with a tightly braided PP (Polypropylene) cover.

Another product suitable for a ribline is Gannet Braid. It takes longer to assemble than Gannet Gold.
