Gannet Nets works directly with manufacturers to hone products and materials to provide application specific solutions.
While we are new to the forestry industry, we have been providing innovative gear solutions in commercial fishing for many years, and we are finding that many of these products are completely compatible to the world of forestry and logging.
Synthetic ropes have already replaced steel wire in some forestry applications, and with the more recently developed ropes and newer fibers, there are more opportunities to replace steel wire, chain, and shackles. These replacements are lighter, easier to handle, and just as durable.
Our synthetic ropes, and the blocks designed to work with these high-tech ropes, are dramatically lighter than the industry standard steel wire and matching steel blocks and shackles.
These weight savings are a huge advantage, especially when you have to pack the gear in and out of active sites.
In forestry/logging, as with fishing, switching to these products can make the job easier and help create a safer working environment.
